Annabel Arden

Annabel Arden is a founder member of Complicité.

Most recently she directed Lionboy, Complicité's first production for children and families. She co-directed The Visit and The Winter's Tale, and appeared in a variety of early shows including The Street of Crocodiles. She continues to teach extensively for Complicité.

Since 1993 Annabel has also pursued an independent career as an opera and theatre director. In 2020 Annabel collaborated with Simon McBurney to co-direct an adaptation of Heinrich von Kleist's novella Michael Kohlhaas produced by Berlin Schaubühne and associate produced by Wayward Productions. The play premiered at the Schaubühne in July 2021 and was presented in rep there through 2022 .

Annabel continues to work with Complicité in an advisory capacity.
