mnemonic / ni’monik / adj. 1 assisting or intended to assist memory 2 of memory.

Our ‘astonishing, transfixing, transcendent’ (New York Times) show, Mnemonic returns this summer at the National Theatre.

A body is found in the ice, and a woman is looking for her father while a man searches for his lost lover. Mnemonic is as much about origins as it is about memory, and remembering what is lost.

As strikingly relevant today as it was 25 years ago, Mnemonic asks us: what is our place in the natural world? How have human relationships with the environment shaped patterns of migration? Who are we, and where do we come from?

Playing in the Olivier theatre 22 June – 10 Aug 2024, with press night on 2 July.

Mnemonic is a co-production with the National Theatre.

Originally co-produced by the Salzburg Festival.

Originally produced by Judith Dimant.
