Susie Ferguson

Trustee

Susie Ferguson is a creative engagement consultant. Inspired by her own experience of community arts projects as a young person, Susie taught Drama, Dance and English at secondary level for twenty three years before becoming a freelance practitioner. Working with theatres and companies such as the National Theatre, the Old Vic, Disney Theatrical Group, Kneehigh, 1927 and Theatre Royal Haymarket, she has advised on a wide range of projects to inspire and support students, teachers and aspiring theatre makers. Her contributions have been recognised twice with the Outstanding Drama Education Resource Award at the annual Music and Drama Awards and she has also contributed to several curriculum reviews with the Department for Education and OfQual.

Susie is an Associate Lecturer on the secondary English PGCE course at the University of Reading. She has a Master’s degree in Victorian Literature, Art and Culture and is currently undertaking a PhD focussing on literary adaptation, funded by AHRC and the White Rose College of Arts and Humanities (WROCAH). Her educational and academic writing has been published by Oxford University Press and Routledge.
