Figures in Extinction [1.0] - A dancer kneels on the floor with their arms in costume

Figures in Extinction nominated at National Dance Awards

18 Apr 2024

Figures in Extinction [1.0] has been nominated for Best Modern Choreography at The Critics Circle 2023 National Dance Awards.

Across continents, choreographer Crystal Pite and our Artistic Director Simon McBurney have exchanged ideas reflecting on their fears and cautious hopes for our age. Over a span of four years, the artists will have created three works together for NDT 1, each developed in response to the last.

Awarded a Zwaan (Swan) Award for the most impressive dance production at the 2022 Nederlandse Dansdagen, Figures in Extinction [1.0] confronts us with everything that is dying on our planet. In February 2025, the third and final work in this collaboration will have its world premiere.

The awards ceremony will take place on Monday 3 June 2024 at The Coronet Theatre.

Figures in Extinction is a co-production between Nederlands Dans Theater and Complicité.
