Help! I'm Alive
Help! I’m Alive was inspired by a classic 16th century Commedia del’ Arte text, Il Bilora, by the Italian actor and writer Ruzzante. Written in heavy dialect, Ruzzante’s plays have deceptively simple plots, unexplained surprises and gratuitous endings that lend an extraordinary freshness whilst mirroring the absurdity of life itself. Their essential theme is a universal one, and one which drives the majority of Commedia del Arte texts: the need to survive.
